O Mom I miss You so much
I know I cant live without You
& so You
But I know that we both have to
And I want to know why
You asked me to behave like a mature boy
I tried to be the same
You asked me to face the challenges
I tried my best
You asked me to be responsible,
I am now
I did all what You wanted me to do
But I am fed up now
And I want to come back
And I want to live with You
And I am ready to payback anything I have to
But I know There is no way back
I am too far from your reach
O Mom
O Mom I miss You so much
O Mom
O Mom I miss You so much, I still remember the day
You slapped me when I was being naughty
I at all didnt like the slap that day
I felt You could slap me only because I was younger &
had I grown-up, You couldnt have slapped me
Now I feel if You could slap me today
Now I wish if You could slap both my cheeks
So that I can feel your touch at least
Now I feel today that why had I grown up &
I curse me for being so mature today
O Mom
O Mom I miss You so much
O Mom
O Mom I miss you so much
I miss your hand firmly brushing my hairs when
I was unable to sleep in long horrible nights
I pray if You could come & fondle my forehead
I pray if You could always be with me
I dont want to be grown up if this is the cost
I dont want to earn fame if this is the cost
I dont want to be independent if I have to leave You
I dont want anything if You are not with me
but I know I cant, I have to accomplish all your dreams
So that You can say that your son is the best
O Mom, I promise and I wont let You down
but whatever the circumstances are
I still dont like to be far from You
O Mom
O Mom I miss You so much
O Mom
- Paglaa Ladka "Broken Heart"
PS: I started writing this poem when I was about to leave IIT-K forever, sometime in the middle of March, 2006. After that, I never got time and inspiration to add anything to this. Now I feel that it is probably best in this form only. Probably some things are never meant to be completed. Perhaps this is The Destiny of this poem and so of mine.
